American Dad! is an American animated comedy series created by Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman for the Fox Broadcasting Company. American Dad! is the first television series to have its inception on Animation Domination. The series premiered on February 6, 2005, following Super Bowl XXXIX, with certified fresh episodes in May 2005.[3] The series is a joint production between Underdog Productions, Fuzzy Door Productions and 20th Television Animation and syndicated by 20th Television.

As a featured series on the TBS network, American Dad! continues to keep viewers laughing.  Even in its tenth season, the long-running show still provides cool surprises for diehard fans (including guest appearances from TV and film stars) as well as storylines that are simply off-the-wall. In this volume, Stan finds a new best friend in Beardo, a hirsute homeless man who foretells his future; Steve uses virtual reality goggles to join Bullock's military team tasked with rescuing Roger from Area 51; Roger becomes Stan's boss at the CIA; Francine takes over Stan's beauty pageant duties; Hayley tries to get a job as an exotic dancer and makes Roger her manager.

The fifth season concluded after 22 episodes on May 3, 2009. It debuted with a slight drop in ratings compared to the previous season though it was still able to retain most of its lead-in, The Simpsons. Season five started off with a two-episode mini-story titled "100 A.D." which aired as part of the Animation Domination lineup on Fox. Following a holiday hiatus, the show returned February 15, 2009 and aired a total of eight episodes before going on an extended break until May 3, 2009. Seth MacFarlane has stated that "there'll probably be some crossover [between Family Guy and American Dad!] in the future."

American Dad! follows the events of Stan Smith, a staunchly conservative Republican, and his eccentric family in the fictional town of Langley Falls, VA. Stan is married to Francine Smith, a ditzy housewife who is trying to make up for a wild past; they have two children together: Hayley, an ultra-liberal college student/activist, and Steve, a nerdy teenage nerd who enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, science fiction and mountain dew. 

The Smiths also have two rather unconventional members in their household: Klaus Heissler, an intelligent goldfish whose human body perished from heart failure due to shock from being flushed down the toilet, his brain was transplanted into the head of a goldfish by Stan. Roger is an "alien" who has lived with the Smith family since he crashed there in 1999; he does not like to leave Stan's house due to his imprisonment as a part of Area 51.
